Privacy Policy for Lens Match

Last updated: 2026-10-14

This Privacy Policy explains how the Lens Match mobile application (“Lens Match”, “the app”, “we”) handles information when you use it. Lens Match is a focal length, aperture and depth of field calculator for photographers, published by Sime Basioli (contact: sime@sikira.co).

We designed Lens Match to be privacy-friendly by default: the app works entirely on your device, we do not run our own servers, we do not have user accounts, and we do not track you.

Summary

  • We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information.

  • We do not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

  • Lens Match makes no network connections — the app is fully offline and sends nothing off your device.

  • The app does not ask for any permissions: no camera, photos, location, contacts, microphone, or motion sensors.

  • Your settings are stored only on your device.

1. Information we process

1.1 Settings and preferences

Lens Match saves the following in the app’s local storage on your device, so the app opens the way you left it:

  • Your lens setup: camera formats (including any custom sensor size you enter), focal length, aperture, adapter, and focus distance

  • Your preferences: distance units, focus view, haptics on or off, and appearance (light, dark, or system)

These values never leave your device and can be removed by uninstalling the app.

1.2 Contacting us

If you tap Contact in Settings, Lens Match opens your mail app with a draft addressed to us. To help us answer support questions, the draft already includes the app version, your device model (for example “iPhone18,2”), and your iOS version. You can see and edit this text before sending, and nothing is sent unless you send the email yourself. If you do, we receive your email address and whatever the message contains, and use them only to reply to you.

1.3 Links and sharing

Rate and Privacy open pages in the App Store or your browser, and Share opens the iOS share sheet with a link to the app. These are handled by Apple’s system apps and the services you choose, not by Lens Match, and are subject to their own privacy policies.

2. Information we do NOT collect

DISP does not collect, process, or have access to:

  • Your name, email, phone number, or any account identifier.

  • Your location, contacts, calendar, or microphone.

  • Your existing photos — DISP can only add new photos, it cannot read your library.

  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA, GAID).

  • Analytics events, crash reports, or telemetry.

  • Purchase, payment, or billing information (any purchase is handled by Apple’s App Store, not by us).

  • Browsing history or data from other apps.

Lens Match has no login, no user accounts, and no ads.

3. Third-party services

Lens Match does not use any third-party services, SDKs, or external data providers, and makes no network connections. All calculations happen on your device. Nothing is sent to us or to any other party.

4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area, the legal bases for processing are:

  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): storing your settings and preferences on your device, which is necessary to provide the app’s functionality.

  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): replying to an email you send us, using the information you choose to include.

You can withdraw location consent at any time via your device’s system settings. Doing so does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

5. Your rights

Because we do not collect or store your personal data on our servers, there is nothing we can access, modify, export, or delete on your behalf. You retain full control on your device:

  • Delete local settings: uninstall Lens Match to remove all locally stored data.

  • Turn off haptics: Lens Match → Settings → Haptics.

If you have emailed us, you can ask us to delete that correspondence at any time.

Users in the EU/EEA have rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection). Users in California have rights under the CCPA (right to know, right to delete, right to opt out of sale; we do not sell data). To exercise any rights or ask questions, contact us at sime@sikira.co.

6. Data retention

We do not retain any user data on our servers because we do not operate servers. Data stored on your device remains until you uninstall the app. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to answer you, and are deleted on request.

7. Children’s privacy

Lens Match is suitable for all ages and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you have any concerns, please contact us.

8. International data transfers

Lens Match makes no network requests and uses no servers, so no personal data is transferred off your device or across borders by the app.

9. Security

Lens Match operates offline and makes no network connections, so your data never travels over a network. Settings are stored using the platform’s standard preferences storage (iOS UserDefaults), which is protected by iOS app sandboxing.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated within the app or alongside an app update. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised policy.
